3DG Wireless Email Support for Windows
Below are the basic variables that you need to setup your email application to send and receive e-mail from your 3DG Wireless email account.
3DG Wireless Email Settings
Mail Server Type POP3
Incoming mail server mail.3dgathome.com
Outgoing mail server mail.3dgathome.com
Email Address YOUR_USERNAME@3dgathome.com
User Name YOUR_USERNAME
Password YOUR_PASSWORD
(provided to you in the 3DG Quick Start User's Guide left by the installer)
Setting up Outlook for Windows
Please note that settings may be slightly different depending on the version of Outlook you are using or if you are modifying an existing account.
- Open Outlook.
- Click Tools from the top menu bar and select Email Accounts. (See diagram below)
- Select “Add a new e-mail account.”
- Select POP3 as your email server.
- Enter the following info in the Internet
E-mail Settings screen: (See diagram below)
User Information
Your Name: Enter your full name, as you would like it displayed to the recipients of your email messages.
E-mail Address: Enter your full email address, i.e. jondoe@3dgathome.com.
Login Information
Enter your Account Name (i.e. first part of your email address, i.e. jondoe if your email address is jondoe@3dgathome.com.)
Enter your email password.
Server Information
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.3dgathome.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.3dgathome.com
- Click "More Settings..."
- Select the Outgoing Server tab.
- Select “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” and click on the radial button beside “Use the same settings as my incoming mail server.” (See diagram below)
- Select the Connection tab.
- Select “Connect Using my Local Area Network (LAN).” (See diagram below)
- Click OK. This will close the "More Settings..." window.
- Click Next and then click Finish on the next screen to complete the process.
- If you are connected to the Internet, click Send/Receive button to check your email account for new messages.
Setting up Outlook Express for Windows
Please note that settings may be slightly different depending on the version of Outlook Express you are using or if you are modifying an existing account.
- Open Outlook Express and click Tools in the top menu bar. Click on Accounts.
- Next, click on the Add button. If a little box shows up, click on Mail as you are adding a mail account.
- In the “display name” box, add the name you want to show up on your account, then click Next.
- Add your email address, then click on the Next button. (ie. jondoe@3dgathome.com)
- Under “My incoming mail server is a” select POP3 server. Under “Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server:” type in mail.3dgathome.com. Then under outgoing mail (SMTP) server:” type in mail.3dgathome.com. Once you have completed this step, click Next.
- In the “Account Name:” box, enter your email address (ie. jondoe@3dgathome.com). Under the “password” box, enter your password. (Note: Be sure to keep your information sheet. For your security, we don t keep passwords.) Once you have completed this step, click Next.
- In the next screen, click Finish.
- Once you have completed using the wizard you will need to make one more change to your account settings. Select your email account and select Properties on the right side of the screen.
- On the next screen select the Servers tab.
- Down near the bottom place a check mark beside “My server requires authentication” then select the Settings button.
- Select “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”, then click OK.
- Click Apply, then click OK in the window left on the screen.
